Vanity Disorientation, 300dpi, 2018

This digitally edited photography series helped me to physically explore the disorientation that I feel when I am encapsulated in water while discussing vanity within self-portrait art.
The exploration of a particular sensation does not have to be interfaced using the individual it affects, however, due to convenience, it is easiest to use ones-self as the subject of demonstration. Digitally editing these self-portraits aesthetically portrays the subconscious feeling of being trapped.
Peaceful Pandemics, 300dpi, 2020

With a pandemic at hand and the lives we’ve become accustomed to demolished right before our eyes; it’s hard to “see the light” in this situation. Recently, it has become equally as hard for me to stay motivated.
Through this series, I explored how I can use light within the confines of my isolated apartment to see a brighter side to each day. This entailed me preforming for the camera in order to express the hope and calmness I am trying to feel during isolation. I am hoping that this subject will continue to bring me solace through examination.

Soft Sounds

This soft sculpture was hand sewn, designed, and crafted by me. The purpose of the soft sculpture is to take something that you can’t cuddle up to and make it cuddle-able.
Music is one of the only things that makes me feel sentimental and emotional. Music has a way of bringing back memories and times. This sculpture is a physical representation of how “soft” music makes me.
